When it came to dancing and just about anything else that mattered to her, Rachel was always serious. Taking advantage of something was one thing but bringing yourself down because of it was another. At that moment, Rachel could tell that Luke could probably be serious about alot of things, music just being the one they happened to be talking about now. And not only did he seem serious about singing in itself but with every aspect of it, even if she happened to be the one he had dedicated a song to.
At the same time that he had said this, Rachel wondered why he had picked her of all girls out of the crowd. Either there was a reason for it seeing as he did know her and she wasnt just some random choice, or perhaps she was a random choice...She wouldnt know unless she asked right?
Lifting the bottle to her lips but without taking a drink Rach questioned him, "So why'd you pick me anyways? Just cuz I looked like I was having fun....Like every other girl out there?" The mouth of the bottle touched her lips and she tipped her hand to let the cold liquid slide down her throat, her eyes not leaving his for a second.

watching her eyes as she kept them on his still being able to tilt her head back to take a drink, Luke smiled to her. "i picked you..." holding the cool bottle in his hand, he tapped his fingers against it gently, "because...i wanted to get to know you.." he said in a soft voice. no lies, no jokes, no nothing. just a simple, honest answer to the girl that sat beside her.

"So, somehow, you just figured that after having set me in the middle of the stage and sang me one of my favorite songs, that we'd end up sitting here drinking a beer and 'getting to know eachother'?" Rachel continued to question in a somewhat sarcastic but serious manner.
What ever this boys intentions were, he sure had a way of going about with them. On the one hand, he had dedicated a song to her in the middle of a crowd, which by the way had made her feel like the center of attention, and on the other, he had got her to sit down and have a drink with him, even if she was the one who had offered. Not bad. Not bad at all. She had to give him credit for that.

"well i remember when you had to present that project you did on civilization back in like Mr. Row's class and how you were afraid to go up and present infront of people because you knew that the next time you presented it would be to the whole school" he smiled still tapping his fingers against the glass Luke then took another glup of he liquid.
"from their...it all just kinda worked out i guess, i didnt except it to but it did..." licking his lips, Luke gave a small smile and peered at her once again. why was she so different? why did she have to pull you in with each word she said.

Why would he remember that project? Rachel barely remembered doing it herself, the only thing she really remembered about it was how she passed it with flying colors. She haden't really understood what he was getting at on the one hand, but she would take his word for it none the less.
Nodding her head slightly, Rachel tried hard not to give him yet another questioning look. "I see..." She said simply trying to understand his theory on that. Rachel hated being the center of attention and did almost anything to stay out of the way of the judging eyes of fellow peers, "Well congratulations?" Giving a small laugh and a tiny smile, Rachel once again took a sip of her beer.

he nodded once again as he looked at the slender figure that sat a few feet from him. she had questioned his motives a lot tonight so it was time to had out a few questions of his own. "so umm..what might i ask were you doing that close to the stage then?" he smiled softly to her as he dragged the beer bottle closer to the edge and lifted the rim to his lips. tilting back his head as the drink slipped down his throat, Luke didnt take his eyes off of her

Rachel saw it coming that Luke would soon have questions of his own since she had questioned his motives one to many times. They just happened to come sooner than later. "Well if were being completely honest with eachother..." She smirked an lowered the bottle to sit on the bar, "I heard you were playing, but I had some help getting to the front of the stage..." Leaning to one side, she spotted her friends standing on the other side of the room chatting with a few other poeple from school, "Next question?" She asked, returning to her original position.

"well thanks for coming..." he gave a nod as he followed her eyes to a group of girls off to one side, "friends of yours im assuming?" he asked looking back at her then tilting his head to one side as if to point to the group.
Luke turned his back to the counter and leaned back. putting his arms so the rested on the counter but hung slightly off. he was comfortable in the least. turning his attention back to Rachel not saying anything

"Something like that..." Rachel replied with a laugh, again watching one of her friends as she dragged some guy onto the dance floor, "Those who can't do...Teach..." She stated, spinning her beer bottle around on a coaster, "I'm not like them to the point where I go all out to have fun, but they try there best to get me there." Rach shrugged, knowing fair well that nothing they did would change her perspective on 'fun.' It just wasnt her thing.

turning his attention back to the group of friends, Luke let out a laugh as he watched them joke and goof around. with music playing and mostly everyone dancing Luke looked over to the girl beside him and gave a cheeky grin as his laugh continued. "well your definitely not like them...but thats ok..everyone's different" looking at her with his pericing blue eyes "you and i are different yet we get along right?" letting out a breath he took another gulp of his beer and continued "people surprise you everyday....and fun? well lifes all about fun but its how you explain it that makes it interesting to everyone around you"

The last thing Rachel expected to hear from Luke was him agreeing that she was different from her friends, but she couldn't blame him seeing as that was a given. She wasn't like any of her friends really. The quiet more calm one of the bunch, but she had her moments just like the rest of them. You just had to catch her at the right moment.
"You have a point...But than again, we've only been talking for a bit," Rachel stated with her eyebrows raised as she again lifted the bottle to her lips, finishing off her the drink she had ordered earlier, "...People surprise you thats for sure. You surprised me once tonight already..." She smirked, and set the empty bottle down on the bar for the bartender to pick up.

as he finished off his bottle as well, Luke pondered about what had happened before. with both of them in the spotlight, him singing to her it was like magic. it was hard to imagine that Luke had actually puleld her up on stage with him, but he was glad he did.
"thats true...we could play 20 questions or something, who knows what we'd find out about each other" he smirked looking over at her, as the bartender took the two empty bottles away from them. "maybe theres more to come...who knows right?" he shrugged looking over at the crowd of people dancing and goofing off

The two of them seemed out of place. Everyone around them was either dancing, or standing while talking. These two on the other hand were sitting and had been in 'deep' conversation for the past half hour it seemed. The Razmas didn't seem at all the place to be doing anything other than drinking and dancing, but with everyone else doing their own thing, all attention was off of them, which meant that no one would be eavesdropping on what they had to say. Something Rachel rarely had the chance to do without someone listening was talk to someone seriously.
"I guess we could do that. As long as you start..." she smiled, as she crossed one leg over the other to sit comfortably facing him.

raising an eyebrow to her smile he gave a sly smirk "alright alright...i'll start it" shaking his head as it slowlydropped. keeping his eyes on the floor as he leaned forward he gave some thought to what his first question shoul be for Rachel. after debating on a few to ask, Luke settled on one "alright so...what cant you do that you wish you could?" it was a weird question to ask but Luke liked it because it gave him a starting path

Twenty questions seemed a simple game at first, but once Luke had asked his first question, Rachel was stumped. She'd had her own question in mind for when it came to her turn, but it was nothing compared to what he had in mind to start the game off with.
"Wow, good one...Um...I wish I could be good around people," Rachel replied instantly. She hated huge crowds and when she was around them she was always quick to be sure she was never the center of attention, "Answer the same one before I ask mine."
