weekend? yes! tis the first weekend and what better way to spend it then to be working? Luke didnt mind though because his jokb was something he loved to do...preform. singing and playing his electric guitar was what kept him going. people loved to hear him preform because he was so wild and crazy. his voice was raspy, but had a rocker edge to it which gave him a unique sound.
wearing his black 'etnies' tshirt, biege cargo shorts, white etnies shoes and his black etnies hat which he wore off to one side, Luke grabbed his guitar and walked on stage. hearing everyone cheer and scream his name, Luke raised his arm high and gave the rock on sign with his hand then quickly went into the song.
My head, it hurts Each day it's getting worse My looks and smile Have now become my curse Tight lips, red skirt The neverending street Big car, little man My lover for a fee
So if you see me will you just drive on by? Or will I catch the twinkle inside your eye? And if you want me well I guess I want you Oh pretty baby how could you?
Standing in the rain Milk carton mug-shot baby Missing since 1983 Standing in the rain 20 years of dirty needles Raindrops runnin' through my veins
My head it hurts Each day its getting worse No sun, my room Has now become my herse Cold sores, im beat Got bruises on my feet My pride, these men Have taken it from me
So if you see me will you just drive on by? Or will I catch the twinkle inside your eye? And if you want me well I guess I want you Oh pretty baby how could you?
Standing in the rain Milk carton mug-shot baby Missing since 1983 Standing in the rain 20 years of dirty needles Raindrops runnin'through my veins
Standing in the rain Milk carton mug-shot baby Missing since 1983 Standing in the rain 20 years of dirty needles Raindrops runnin' through my veins
So if you see me will you just drive on by? Or will I catch the twinkle inside your eye? And if you want me well I guess i want you Oh pretty baby how could you?
Standing in the rain Standing in the rain Standing in the rain Milk carton mug-shot baby Mother, I have lost my way Standing in the rain Milk carton mug-shot baby Missing since 1983 Standing in the rain 20 years of dirty needles Raindrops runnin' though my veins Standing in the rain Mother, I have lost my way Standing in the rain Mother, I have lost my way
once done, everyone screamed and cheered for him once again. with the lights shining at him, somewhat blinding him the only figure he could see was someone infront of him...

On occasion, Rachel liked to let loose. She wasn't much of the party girl type, but it never hurt to get out and do something out of your usual scheduelle did it? No, which is exactly what brought her to stand in front of the small stage at the head of Razmas. A club of sorts, and definatly not her usual 'hang out.'
She'd been here once or twice with a few of her friends, but had never managed to get into the habit of coming here on a regular basis. Tonight was different although. Not only had she come here for a night out, but when she heard that Luke Bennette was playing, she couldn't resist. What better way to get to know someone than to see them at their best. Doing something they love...Or at least thats why Rachel thought he might be playing here of all places.
Having grabbed a drink, chatted with a few friends, and had a dance with someone she'd never met, Rachel thought she was done with her night, but after having been pushed to the front of the stage to watch him sing, the senior knew that the night was still young, and there was no going back. Not only because she was up there but because the crowd was just to large to push back through.
It was only minutes before the performance was begun and ended, and cheering filled the room. He was good, better than what she could do at the least.
Clapping for him, Rachel looked up to the stage. Could he see her?

Luke waved back to the huge crowd which filled the club. they were louder then ever tonight which Luke loved because it meant he was doing a good job. he still focused his eyes on Rachel. a girl that he knew from school, they hadnt really shared a meaningful conversation together before but the night was far from over and knowing that she was here it was about to get a lot more crazier.
singing a few more songs to the crowd of people, he then grabbed the mic and said "well, here's a treat for a girl i know in the audience tonight...she goes by the name of Rachel...i tihnk you all might know her" he smiled and pointed to her. walking over to her, Luke gave her his extended hand and pulled her up on stage with the help of a few people in the crowd. now standing beside her on stage Luke led her to a stool in the center of the stage and motioned for her to sit down. "this would be the lovely Rachel everyone..." he said into the mic again.
looking at her he gave a wink then smiled "this one is for her..." Luke started to play his guitar then lifted his head, resting his lips inches away from the mic and started to sing..
Tell me what I'll never be Make me feel broken Tell me what I should believe I didn't know it was broken
And I'm gunnin' for you I'm gunnin' for you And I will wait, I'll write another letter to myself And I will find out that morning comes faster alone
I hate the way you look at me As if I was broken And the perfection of my frailty Has been questioned and broken
And I'm gunnin' for you I'm gunnin' for you And I will wait, I'll write another letter to myself And I will find out that morning comes faster alone
And I feel like I'm fine today I feel like I'm ready to take this on And I'll fight you to the grave for it I'll never let you take a part of me with you
And I will wait, I'll write another letter to myself And I will find out that morning comes faster alone The perfection of my frailty has been questioned and broken
once finished he raised his hand up in the air and smirked to the crowd then turned to Rachel and nodded to her

So he was better than she had expected. That was one thing she would admit to no one but herself. After all, she barely knew the guy. They'd spoken to eachother once or twice over the weeks, but they didnt know anything about eachother, let alone did they go all out to make eachother smile.
He sang a few songs, and Rachel enjoyed them as much as the last, but what he had done afterwards, came as a complete shock. Not only was Rachel quiet at most times, and outgoing at others, but she was none the less shy. She hated standing in front of large crowds, so when Luke grabbed her hand and pulled her onto the stage out of no where, Rachel's stomache did somersaults, and her naturally fair toned cheeks turned a bright pink.
"What are you doing?!" She managed to let out with a squeek as she was seated in the centre of the stage on a stool that was rather uncomfortable. But Luke hadn't replied. Instead, he left her side and spoke to the crowd through the mic.
He was dedicating a song to her? Rachel's eyes scowered the room frantically as he finished speaking and broke into his next song. A favorite of hers, but there was no possible way he could have known that. She doubted he even knew her last name let alone her favorite song.
It was only a moments time before the crowd broke into cheers again, and Rachel could see her friends in the back, laughing and trying to clap. She gave a faint smile, but wouldn't be back to herself until she was off the stage and hidden between the others standing before her. Luke had his eyes peeled on her, and Rachel looked back, making eye contact. She once again, showed her smile, then stood up off the chair, and walked towards him before moving off the stage, "Your in so much trouble..." She said in a teasing yet slightly nervous and serius tone.

with his eyes on her, he couldnt help but give a little laugh as he saw her facial expression when he lifted her onto the stage. it was quite amusing but he didnt want to embarass her anymore then this. he thought it would make her smile.
once he started to sing he peered over at her and noticed the smile spread across her lips. what was she so happy about over there? was it just being on stage or was she happy that he had dedicated the song to her. he really didnt know that much about Rachel but there was something about her that told Luke not to give up.
hearing her reaction as she walked off Luke just smirked then spoke into the mic "alright everyone...i think its time for a break...but i shall be back and yes i will pull more people up onto the stage" he grinned looking at a group of girls in the front that were pouting because they were jealous of Rachel.
putting his guitar on the stand Luke walked off the stage and down the stairs to where Rachel was. he grinned looking at her "so did a have fun up there?"

Walking down the stairs on the right side of the stage, Rachel's heels clicked annoyingly on the ground behind her. Glancing over her shoulder, she could see and hear Luke telling other girls that he would soon dedicate songs to them. Rolling her eyes, Rachel stopped and crossed her arms watching him. She had to have known that what he had done, was nothing more than a publicity stunt to catch the attention of other girls who all looked at him dreamily.
Once he had made his way off the stage, Rachel quickly removed her gaze from him and acted as if she was looking around the club at other passers by. When she heard him speak to her although, she turned her attention back to him like nothing had happened.
"So much fun!" She exclaimed with a peachy smirk, "Almost as if I didnt know what was going on..." Rach added sarcastically, "I'll admit the song I enjoyed but being brought up unexpectedly in front of a crowd by the one guy in school who would do that to just about any other girl...Not so much."

Luke looked at her with a smirk. so she enjoyed the song but not the action. "wow...harsh much?" he opened his eyes a little then relaxd them. "it wasnt a publicity stunt or whatever you want to call it...i saw you in the crowd nad it looked like you were having a good time" he shrugged
"im sorry alright? how was i suppose to know that you were freaked out infront of large groups of people? i just thought id be nice and dedicate it to you jeez..." he looked down to one side thne back up at her. "just because im a punk rocker or whatever my steretype is these days doesnt mean im always like that...i like surprising people and by your expression on stage it looked like you were surprised and...like you were having a good time"

She'd said it herself that they barely knew eachother, so why was Rachel acting as if he was supposed to know that she hated crowds? She was being harsh but she haden't expected him to take her all that seriously either. Letting out a sigh and rolling her head to one side until her eyes once again landed on him, Rachel closed her eyes for a second and then opened them again, "Luke...I am having funny. And I had fun on stage...Im sorry ok? I'm just...Shy. Thats all." She gave a slight smile, "Now how bout we get a drink?" She raised an eyebrow and took a step towards the bar, wondering if he would follow while he had the time.

"its fine...." he nodded looking at her "i guess im just slow tonight...sorry" he gave a smirk then crossed his arms over his chest as he watched her sway her head to one side. "umm how aobut i treat you to-" he paused dropping his head he laughed then looked back up at her "you took the words right out of my mouth...ya my treat" he nodded

Rachel laughed, "I seem to do that alot..." She smirked, noticing that Luke had a charm about him. His smile, his tone, his attitude, everything about him seemed to draw you in and not want to pull back until you knew every little thing about him. Rachel on the one hand didn't need to know every little thing about him, but she wanted to get to know him enough to have an actual conversation with him.
"Your treat eh? How bout a beer than?" She offered this as more of a suggestion than a question, but he would understand all the same. Moving to the bar, Rach took a seat on one of two empty bar stools and waited for Luke to join her.

"ya apparently" he smirked brushing his hair out of his face while he pulled his hat down a little bit. there was an attraction to Rachel that just made you fall. the way she moved and laughed and smiled at you, it was like you were the only one in the room, like you were the only person that mattered in that moment. she had a gift.
"beer it is" he nodded with goofy face then followed shortly behind her to the bar. since it was a crowded club tonight it was quite hard keeping up but Luke got there moments later. take a seat on the empty stool next to her, Luke waved to his buddy behind the counter. holding two fingers up in the air as if to ask for 2 beers, the bartender nodded and shortly after brought out two ice cold beers for the couple. holding his, Luke raised it slightly and said "cheers" to her with a smile planted on his lips

Spinning to the left with a small push of her foot, Rachel's stool spun around to face the one she had left for Luke. Eye contact was the most important thing in a conversation, it let you feel what the person was talking about, get the full effect you might say. And in a room full of people and hundreds of peering eyes, it was the only chance she'd get to make eye contact with Luke for longer than only a moments time.
Once he had taken a seat and gave orders to the bartender for two beers, at which they soon arrived back to them, Rachel picked one up with a slender hand and raised it to his toast, "Cheers..." She said with a smile, after than taking a sip. Setting the bottle down gently on the bar, Rachel kept her hand as to make sure it didnt get spilled, "This must be a regular thing for you...The singing and cheering...And the girls..." She added with a smirk, waiting for his reply.

with a glup of his beer, he leaned his left arm on the counter and face the slim blond beside him. peering into her eyes he gave a smile followed shortly by a nod. "the singing and cheering...and the girls" he paused with a little laugh then continued "yes...yes its a regular routine for me...but i enjoy music, its my life, my passion so i dont find any dullness surrounding it. if people want to cheer and get hyped up then thats a bonus" he smiled taking another sip of his beer.

Watching him closely, Rachel noticed how he seemed to enjoy his current situation as well as the many others that had come and gone in the past hour or so. The singing, the cheering...The girls. All but one just seemed to be opportune moments to him. Anybody could do with a little praise in their life and some 'fun' on the side, but doing something you love, you just couldn't put a price on.
Rachel nodded her head slowely as he explained the concept of music to her. Just like her, he had a passion for something. His was singing, hers was dancing. They fell along the same lines in a way, but there was no doubt that they both found some sense of 'self' in each one.
"And do you dedicate songs to girls often?" She added just for kicks, hoping that he might not answer that of all things.

with Luke's past still hanging over his shoulders, music was the only thing he could turn to for shelter. it was his escape from reality, from everything and everyone around him. with his family being torn apart by his parents separatation and his twin brother moving away to live with his mom it was hard for Luke to hold himself up, but he always found a way to with music. on top of his family, Luke was diagnosed with cancer shortly after, having feared it all his life but beating it a few times, Luke managed to always find a perfect song to push and guide him towards the light of reality.
with his blue eyes closing in on her, Luke gave a smile. for once, he wanted to be serious...it was hard to see in him but he could do it. taking another sip of his drink he started "truthfully? your the first..." he gave a smile
