standing near a park bench Luke paced back and forth trying to overcome his fear of seeing the one person that he had hurt the most...the one person he cared for more then anything else in the world. what would he say? would he even say anything? would she hit him because of the rage that must be built up inside her.
as he paused lifting his curious eyes to spot a couple holding hands and laughing. it was something he missed. something he wanted back more then anything but he knew from his mistakes it wasnt going to happen anytime soon. Luke had ruined everything and for what? because he was confused? so why turn to alcohol knowing that it gives you a wrong state of mind? Luke had only questions as he waited for Rachel to arrive...

Rachel had only one question for Luke as she pulled her hair up into a loose bunn, slipped on a pair of jeans and pulled her red hoodie over her lean torso. Why Haley? Of all the people he could have got drunk and slept with, it had to be Haley. The only other person besides Craig that she could...Or thought she could count on. Now where did that leave them? Her relationship with Luke had already been on the rocks, and now her friendship with Haley had been thrown out the window.
Grabbing nothing but her keys off the kitchen counter, Rachel had to push herself to walk out the door. Meeting with Luke was the last thing she wanted to do. Getting into her car, she drove to the park where he'd asked to talk to her. The advantage of meeting at the park? There were alot of places to hide or run too if things didn't go as planned...
Having parked her car at the entrance gates, the blonde got out and entered the park, her feet dragging along beneathe her. Spotting the boy she'd come to meet, she slowed down, gathering her thoughts, until her feet came to a stop behind him, "What?" She asked her tone free of any emotion, a blank look on her face.

quickly turning after the sharp but emotionless tone rang in his ears. Luke didnt know what to do. he was frozen in place and couldnt move any part of his body. seeing her there just brought back the horrible memory of what he had done to her. something he couldnt take back but wish that he could. taking a deep breath then softly releasing it, Luke cleared his throat and begun with 'small talk' just to get something started "hey..." he gave a soft but quick smile her way.
with a it of a long pause between them Luke shoved his hands into his pockets and focused his eyes on hers. "so h....how've you been?" stumbling to say the words but knowing if he showed any sign of nerves Rachel would eat him alive.

With her feet frozen in place, Rachel gave Luke a look as if questioning why she was even there. Like she didn't already know...Crossing her arms at his question about how she was doing, she wondered if he could even see how she was feeling. The expression on her face, not to mention her tone would have been more than enough evidence showing how 'she was doing.'
"Been better..." She muttered, raising her eyebrows up, as she scanned the area around them. Just like her mood, the weather was gloomy. The sky was covered with clouds while a quiet wind whipped through the trees. "...You?" she asked just for kicks.

"umm ya...same" he nodded looking towards the ground then back to the eyes of a hurt girl. "im sorry Rach...for what i did and i know that umm you probably wont ever forgive me and i cant blame you for it but dont give up on Haley, she needs you and i know you need her" licking his lips softly before turning his head to one side. "we both hurt you...i get that but if your going to forgive either or us...i want you to forgive her"

Rachel had given up on Haley long ago, whether or not anyone knew it, she had. Since Haley had started dating Craig, her fellow senior had changed. She was no longer that fun loving, quiet fire ball that Rae knew, and she never would be again...At least not after this. Luke on the other hand. Was still the same person to Rachel. He always fought for what he wanted, and this was no different seeing as he was still fighting to get her back. Just like him, she didn't want to give up either, but it was getting harder and harder to resist doing it, as she spent everyday without him at her side.
"I don't care about Haley right now Luke. I care about you. The only person im worried about forgiving is you! But do you even know how hard it is to do that when you slept with one of my best friends?...I dont think you do..." The words seemed to walk themselves out of her mouth. She spoke with a sort of broken elegance, one that was bound to catch his eye. The blonde haired, normally bubbly senior wasn't even in the mood to negotiate with him, but there was so much she wanted to get him to understand that couldnt wait any longer.

he could feel the hurt and anger and frustration in her voice just like he could see it in her eyes. "i care about you too Rach...i love you" Luke just stood there silent. this was the chance to make everything right, the chance to fight for what he trully wanted but he couldnt. there was something holding him back. fear. fear of her not wanting him back. he had done the worst possible thing to her and nothing could make it go away or stop.
Luke let a breath slip from his lips as he took a few steps closer to Rachel. hesitating for a second he then wrapped his arms around her to comfort her. "i didnt want to hurt you...i never want to hurt you..ever" he whispered into Rachel's ear. "im so sorry i hurt you Rach"

Rach could tell he was being sincere, she could hear it in his voice, and see it in his face and actions. He was hesitant to say anything, whether it be in fear of saying the wrong thing to make her mad or not, she could tell this was just as hard for him as it was for her. Listening to his every word, with a sharp ear, it was tempting to just forgive him and move on. She wanted him back so bad, she needed him back, but whether she believed it or not, her heart was still shattered into a million little peices.
As her arms hung limply at her sides for a moment, as Luke surprisingly, moved towards her to hug her, the blonde beauty wasn't sure she wanted to hug him back or not. After all, the arms that were around her, could just as easily be placed around Haley once again. After a moment, her body seemed to kick in. Shockingly, Rachel's arms moved around Luke's neck as she hugged him back, tears welling in her eyes. Its not like she wanted to let him go in the first place, and she haden't. No matter how hard she tried, despite the fact she was mad at him, she couldn't let him go, and even now she felt the same way. Resting her chin on his shoulder as she looked ahead of her, the girl just stood there in complete silence, waiting for something...Anything to happen.

with his arms around her, he knew she was hesitatent to hug him back probably from fear of being hurt. he had broken the one thing he said he wouldnt, denying any right to love her trully and honestly. holding her closely to his body brought back those feelings that had been buried after his mistake. he couldnt fight them, he didnt have the strengthen to but somehow he did. it was unbelieveable to witness but in fact it was true.
as he held her closely, Luke could feel the tears drop from her eyes as they hit his tshirt ever once and a while. what was he to do? all he need was one thought changed into words that would win over her damaged heart. one chance was all he needed. with a slow breath escaping his lips Luke finally broke the silence. "let me mend the heart that i broke...because i know that if i can heal it...i wont ever hurt it again. this i promise"

(see this is EXACTLY why it takes me forever to reply lol what one earth is Rae supposed to say to that other than 'yes' ) If anyone had been standing next to the pair, they would surely have seen Rachel as the easiest girl in all of Crystal Falls. Luke had a way with her heart. He could break it one minute, but the next, he could make it skip beats like crazy. At the moment, Rachel was feeling both, it may have been shattered in a million pieces from hearing what he had done with Haley, but every little piece still beat for him and him alone. None of that seemed to be changing anytime soon. Debating in her mind, the words he had just let slip from his lips, Rachel was possitive she wanted to give him a second chance. Things wouldn't be the same as they had been before, but they could get back that way couldn't they? He could get her trust back...Eventually. It was worth a shot. He was worth it. Loosening her grip around him, Rachel stepped back onto the flats of her feet and looked him in the eye, "Someones always going to get hurt Luke, I just....When you promise me that you wont hurt me, I believe you. But it makes it harder to believe you when you break your promises. I trust you. I did and I still do...I trust you enough to give you another chance..." There was his confirmation, hopefully he had caught it.

[lol im good haha]
Luke watched her eyes shift ever so slightly as she spoke to him. he tone was soft, but held so much meaning. she was hurt but yet she was strong in how she came across. when he heard the last few words trickle from her lips, a gentle smile beamed acrossed Luke's lips. she had given him the chance...a chance to start over and begin a new chapter in his life. to some it might have seemed ever so small. but to Luke it was a turning point. his life was being restored. it was something he needed, something he wanted and ahve gotten thanks to Rachel.

As her eyes shifted from one feature on his face to another, Rachel could tell he was grateful she was giving him another chance. Though he had hurt her and practically broken her heart with a single stab, he deserved another chance. He was the one guy that made her feel like she could fly, the one guy that made her feel like she meant everything and more to him, not just some stupid booty call like most guys looked for.
Returning the smile, as best she could, Rachel dropped her gaze from his and stammered for the right words to say.

the look in her eyes was something Luke had missed and the smile that grew from her lips, he was praying to see it again. he never wanted to see anyone down or upset about something but it hurt the most when he saw Rachel like this..what hurt even more was the fact that he was the one that did it.
looking into her eyes Luke pushed a few strands of hair from her face to behind her ear. "thank you" was all he could say to her at that moment. "thank you for this...i wont let you down this time"

"Third times a charm..." She said stupidly, knowing fair well that she hoped it wouldn't come to that. Her tone was still a tad bit cold, but thats what you got from a girl who wasn't completely happy, "Lets just hope it doesn't come to that..." Rae added. On instinct, her head tilted to the same side as she felt his hand hit the side of her cheek. Just the feel of his skin on hers sent chills up a spin. This was a good thing...Giving him a second chance.

was it a good thing? to most it probably sounded like the stupidest thing to do. giving a boy your 'broken' heart once again when you already know what he's done in the past and what he might do in the future. Luke didnt care though, he was one that stood by and waited for the chance to prove that he would change or had changed. to him this was a new life. a gift that was so valuable he couldnt take it for granted again.
feeling her soft skin gently rest in his hand Luke nodded towards the few remarks she had made. they were sharp and harsh at times but he knew what she meant by each word. this journey wasnt going to be easy and in order to travel it effectively, Luke had to understand what Rachel was going through
