What with the rain beating against the windows, the wind blowing whatever debris left on the streets, in every direction, and the dark clouds slowely blanketing the sky, to Rachel Stone, today just seemed one of those days in which you couldn't enjoy Crystal Falls. Naturally, Crystal Falls was known for its wild rain storms, but on a good day, the town was one you couldnt get enough of. The trees stood high, letting just enough light illuminate the streets, the sun shone brightly, the people around town were almost as bright as the sun...Crystal Falls was nothing more than home.
Today was just one of those off days, giving Rachel a chance to plunk her butt on a large sofa in the living room, put a good movie into the dvd player, grab a small tub of Ben and Jerry's ice cream from the freezer and do absolutly nothing. Not something she did very often, so she'd use the storm outside to her advantage.
Having put a horror movie, one her parents had rented a few nights ago, into the dvd player, found a pint of B&J's cookie dough ice cream, and gotten comfortable on the couch, with a blanket wrapped around her legs, the only thing that could pull her from her own little world, was the sight of some freaky little monster on the tv. Either that or a knock at the door.

[either that or a knock at the door lol nice one]
Luke had been at the club once again performing like usual, but had soon left due to power failure because of the storm. it wasnt really that bad out when the power went out but maybe it was a sign for things to come. with his car at home and the buses no out of service because of the weather, Luke was forced to walk home in the pouring rain.
soon soaking wet, he walked along the same street he had with Rachel that one night. Luke stood there for a moment to bask in that moment for a second before continuning his journey home. now as he kept walking his feet led Luke to another place he had to remember, the street inwhich they had shared more then one kiss under the stars. it replied in his mind over and over, actually believing it was happening again Luke looked back but saw no one. shaking his head wanting to forget it be continued on.
reaching the Marshing Estates, Luke walked the wet streets passing by numerous houses belonging to people that went to his school. but one house caught his eye, the Stone residence. everything from that night came rushing back to him when he saw that house infront of him. with his wet jeans falling slgihtly he pulled them up slgihty and walked to the front door. im just going to kiss her...she's going to open the door and im just going to kiss her he thought to himself. as he stood infront of the large door and knocked hoping she would answer

How Rachel's parents could have picked such a gorry movie was beyond her. After all, they hated horror movies and, well, so did she, but there was never anything on afternoon television, and she had seen all the movies she owned more than once, plus the weather was worse than ever. She found nothing better to do than sit in front of the tv and watch what she had found.
About half way through the film she had gotten up to get herself something to drink and put away the ice cream she was eating earlier. She had to save some for tomorrow if it was going to be ugly out again. Having just taken a seat back on the couch and gotten comfortable with a bottle of water, Rachel heard a banging sound. At first it sounded like it was coming from the movie, but she soon realized it was none other than someone knocking at her own door.
Putting her bottle of water down on the table in front of her, she threw the blanket off her legs, letting the movie continue to play. Walking over to the door, she couldn't see anyone outside through the window, but quickly opened it to the last person she expected to see.

with Lukes shirt stuck to his fit body because of the rain, and droplets of water dripping off the ends of his hair Luke's eyes focused in on the girl. he did have the will power to be rejected by this girl again? as he pictured that last little wave in his mind from a few nights before Luke closed his eyes for a second then turned away.
he couldnt do it, he couldnt take having to be rejected again from her it would be too hard. he wanted her, but wanting her to be with him and actually getting her to want him were totally different, so instead of his original plan of just kissing her as soon as she opened the door, it backfired and sent him in the opposite direction....back into the rain.

Unexpected wasnt the word Rachel was looking for. It was more along the lines of Completely unexpected. After what had happened between the two of them a few nights ago, Rachel haden't been able to forgive herself. She wanted to talk to him about it again, but pulling up the courage to do it took alot out of her.
Why would he come to her house, and knock on the door only to turn back around and walk back into the rain? He had to have some reason to come here. Remembering how she had grabbed Luke's arm and turned him back from leaving her in the middle of the street the other night, Rachel did the same thing right now.
Stepping out of the door quickly and going down the steps to catch him before he walked away from her, she grabbed his arm, and ran in front of him. Both of them standing out in the rain now, Rachel looked up at him through her slowely wetting hair, "Luke don't go..." Believe it or not, she was happy to see him. And she'd prove it to him that she wasn't going to walk away this time, she wanted to talk things through.

with her grip around his arm and her now standing infront of him with hair almost wet Luke's eyes fell on hers. he heard it in her voice, she did want him to stay and to talk things over. with his eyes nearly shut from the pouring rain, Luke raised his arm just above her head to shield her eyes from the rain.
with a hinted smile on his lips and a nod Luke stood there in the rain with Rachel. even though she was soaked and everything, he still believed she was gorgeous. and slowly but surely that thought he had started off with, came back to him full force. Luke leaned in and rested his lips on hers as the rain fell.

It was as if every moment she had with Luke was something out of a movie. The scene they were in right now...Was one all too familiar to Hollywood pictures. Boy meets girl, rain falls, boy kisses girl...They live happily ever after. If only it was that easy. But for now, Rachel wasn't worried about finding 'the one' or living happily ever after, the only thing she was worried about was this moment.
She'd stopped Luke from walking away to talk to him about them, but from the kiss she was in with him, he obviously had other things on his mind at the moment.
The rain came down harder than ever, and there was no sign of it letting up any time soon. By now, after only been standing out in the rain for a mere three minutes or so, Rachel's hair was soaked, there were water droplettes hanging off her eyelashes and her white top would soon become see through in a matter of minutes if they didnt get back inside.
But all those thoughts seem to disappear when he leaned in and kissed her out of the blue. Once again she felt that 'something'...That spark she felt the first time he had kissed her without warning. Her grip on his arm loosened as she ran her hand up his arm to meet her other one on the other side of his neck. Now she had her arms wrapped around him and there was no pulling back. There was something there and she couldn't deny it any longer.

kissing her lips with more force Luke realized she wasnt holding back at that moment. that she finally might actually be letting him in. a smile formed on his lips as they pressed against Rachel's. kissing in the rain? wasnt that like every girls dream or something? maybe that was why she was letting her guard down. Luke just couldnt let it go, he had thoughts rushing around in his mind about why she would actually be letting him in

It wasn't just the fact that it was raining outside that Rachel had decided to go in for the kiss. In fact, she wasn't even worried about whether or not it was raining. This was Luke. She had kissed him before and she would do it again if she had to. It was that she had realized after that night that he was right. That it was her that wouldnt let anything happen. Taking chances is what life was supposed to be about, so how was she supposed to take chances if she continuously turned them down.
Deepening the kiss for a moment before pulling away, a small smile formed on her lips. As she removed them from his, she stood only centimetres from him. The same facial expression she held the first time he had kissed her had taken position on her face, proving that she in fact was happy, not about to turn him away again. Before speaking, she looked into his eyes, trying to find that light she had seen that night he had asked her on stage. Sure it wasn't as bright as usual, but she could see it.
"Luke I want you to stay...Please?" Was all that came from her lips. Once they were inside she could talk to him more, but for now there was no point in stating anything in the pouring rain.

as she pulled away from his lips, the cool droplets from the ends of his hair took the place on his lip as they dripped downward. looking into her eyes, he still had that feeling like she was going to turn away and run or hide from something she knew was there. why was she always running from things? was she afraid that something horrible would happen or was it the fear of trust once again?
with these ideas rushing in his mind, Luke pushed them aside as he heard her voice. softing his glare at her, Luke gave a simple smirk then a nod of his head for his answer. as they stood in the rain infront of eachother Luke was at a lose for words a bit...would this mean that they were a couple or on that path to being one?

Taking his hand at the nod of his head, Rachel led him up the steps and into the warmth of the Stone Residence. A fairly nice sized house with all the necessary rooms you could ask for. With a rough, rock exterior, it may not have looked welcoming to passers by, but on the inside, it was just like any other home. A home sweet home...To Rachel at least.
He probably thought she was crazy or putting him on. Because he haden't once said a single word to her, and seemed stiff to the idea of staying. What with changing her mind every five minutes, it was becoming apparent that maybe she was the reason for being 'just friends,' with anyone.
Stepping back to shut the door, she turned to look at him, "I know your probably thinking 'what the hell is she on," Rachel said with a slight laugh and a nervous smile, "But im not going to push you away Luke. I do want to talk to you." Hopfully this would give him some assurance as to what she was talking about.

Luke's clothes dripped on the tiled floor beneath him, it was due to the rain obiviously. as he stood there looking around he turned to Rachel who had just spoken. she had that gift...the one where you could read someones mind. laughing at her statement bout the fact that he thought she was crazy. it was true in a sense.
"alright..." he nodded running his fingers through his hair causing it to spike upward. "do you know what you want to talk bout?" he asked thinking she wanted to tell him something, that maybe this was her chance to trust him
[bad i know sorry]

What did Rachel want? She wanted alot of things. She wanted to be able to trust people for one and to top it off she wanted to be able to let Luke in. To take that chance. But could she take the chance and tell him that? Or would she freeze up again and end up pushing him back out into the rain acting as if nothing had happened.
Wringing her hair out, so that little droplettes of water landed on the floor mat below their feet, Rachel nodded, "I want to talk about what happened the other night. I want to tell you that im sorry and that I don't mean to push you away its just how I am. I want to tell you that I like you and that your a great kisser. I want to tell you..." Common Rach think! What else do you want! screamed her conscience as her gaze was directed to the floor, "...I want to tell you...I dont know what else to tell you..." She looked up slowely her eyes moving themselves over every feature of his, until her eyes landed on his and stayed there. She felt stupid for stopping where she did, but she couldn't think of anything else to say to him.

she took the chance... he smiled listening to everything that she wanted to tell him. she had gone from a private journal to an novel...it was an amazing thing to witness. she had gathered the courage to actually talk to Luke about everything and her feelings. he knew she was letting him in...slowly but surely.
with a smile on his face and eyes locked on her, Luke laughed at her one statement about him being a great kisser. "Thanks Rach..." he said answering to that statement. "i know your secretive about your feelings, but you gotta know im here and im staying. im not going to walk away from you..." with a serious expression on his face Luke looked at her. "im here...to stay" he said in a softer voice as if to whisper

Well at least Rachel wasnt the only one getting some reassurance out of this situation. Seeing his smile that he always seemed to be holding, the senior was given reassurance to the fact that he had understood he completely. Perhaps she hadent said everything she wanted to say but it was a start, and thats all she could ask for at the moment.
With a small nod of her wet blonde haired head, she tried to comprehend it all, "Hey...Just stating the facts..." She said quietly adding a slight laugh to lighten the mood. Hearing his next comment, Rae leaned up and kissed his cheek gently, "Sorry for making you wait..."
