Essie was one of those types that always felt like all of the days that she went through went way too fast for her liking but she always lived with it. This of course, was another time that she slowed down, and got herself to think about the world around her and what was going on in it. She wasn't exacty the popular girl, but she wasn't a geek or anything along those lines either. All she was to herself was her, and no body else.
Maybe that was why she did a lot of different things like reading and writing also being part of the student body, and helping decide things to better the school. The most common thing you could catch her doing after school was what she was doing now. Relaxing on a bench and writing some stuff that just popped up into her head no matter what it was at the time. It was a matter of time until one person or another came and talked to her...

with the first of many school days to be done, Luke drove himself home. of course it was common for his dad to be out of the house, Luke was use to it by now and rarely complained of it because he knew that it kept his dads mind off of him. looking around the empty house once again, Luke couldnt help but wonder what to do as he stood in the front hallway of his house. with his eyes shifting in every direction, they handed on a piece of wood...Luke's skateboard. he hadnt used it since the skatingboarding compition a few weeks ago so he decided to.
grabbing it, Luke dropped his bag and guitar case and ran out the door. dropping it to the ground and hopping on, Luke pushed off with his foot and rode down the street. he turned into the park, a great place for skater to do tricks and what not. realizing he still had his ipod in his pocket, Luke put the headphones in his ears and listened to some billy talent as he rode by a girl on the bench that he knew...
[are they friends or enemies?]

(Friends, they know each other because of classes but they still need to get to know each other better)
Essie smiled as she saw one of the people that she knew from classes and other things, but not too well even though she had been around since Freshman year. Why not do ahead and try to get to know this guy a little bit better? She gave him a wave as if to tell him to stop to chat with her for a little bit about general things of coursel. She didn't go spilling her secerts to just anybody, and that was probably a good thing since she had some deep and dark ones.
Luke was one of those guys that was the style of a rocker, and not like she minded that or anything; she just noticed it. She was wearing her navy top and dark jean bottom still, and she was too lazy to change into anything else. As she stopped her wave she looked back down at her paper, and started to write once again.

wearing the same clothes from school, Luke did a few tricks on his board before realizing the girl had waved at him. they had always been in the same music classes but had never really had a meanful conversation with each other. the only thing Luke really knew about her was that she was into music, just like he was.
stopping his board, Luke pulled on of the earphones out and turned his ipod off. he picked up his board and took a few steps towards the girl. "umm hey...Essie right?" he asked, it wasnt like Luke really paid attention in class plus he wasnt really good i nthe names department either

Looked down at her paper still she wrote a few lines before she heard the voice of the guy that she had known from her music classes. After she was done writting she closed her pocket notebook and put it away temperarly. The main thing that she did was either write in general or write song lyrics for other artists to sue for their pieces.
"Yup, and Luke... right?" She wasn't all that good with names either, but when she had heard it enough times it sticked. "How are you Luke?" This was the first step to a real conversation since they had never really had the chance to ever get one until now.

curious as to what she was writing but Luke let it slide. he didnt want to be one of those people always wanting to know every little detail about someone. shaking his head to get it out Luke turned his blue eyes to her. "ya...and umm ya im good...and you?" being polite to a girl that was in all your music classes was alright right?

Being a writer; she didn't care about if people wanted to look at her stuff, and genrally she would let them unless it was something really pirvate that she didn't want other people to know about. It was alright to try to get to know her all you could, because at one point you would find that you could only go so deep into her mind after awhile. "I'm pretty good, but I am kind of disappointed that summer had to end so quickly." She knew that she always loved hanging out with Craig and Haley all of the time, and maybe the fact that she didn't get to hang out with them as much was why she didn't like the first day of school all that much.

"ya i know...that sucks, but schools alright i guess?" he gave a shrug as he looked off to one side then returned his eyes to her. "ya you have to sit there for yor whole life and learn meaningless junk but hey...whats more fun then that?" giving a smirk alogn with another shrug as he put his hands in his pockets and stared at her

"I can think a lot ton of things better to do like my writing and just hanging out with my two closest friends, but I do good in school so there is nothing to complain about." She shrugged a little bit at the thought of school, and she enjoyed it, but she enjoyed just relaxing and hanging out with friends a lot more though. "It's not all the way meaningless. I have learned a lot of stuff from school, but not all of them have been encouraged subjects." That was the truth since she had learned the pains of being picked on and other such things like that. "So what do you do in your spare time?" She asked being a little bit cirious since she didn't really have much else to do anyways.

"ya i guess your right" he shrugged once again then stretched his arms above his head. "me too...i mean they all havent given me the proper guidance i need to survive in the world today but its gotten me to where i am today..." giving a little smile Luke thought for a moment about her question then gave his answer "well...i guess you know two of them boarding and music?" laughing to himself for a moment then contining "i like to write lyrics umm hang out at home, party...play my guitar and sing. what about you?"

Essie liked how the conversation was going, and it was friendly and forward, but not too forward; just the way she liked talking with somebody. "Well, my lessons have given me a lot of wisedom you could say." She knew that she didn't want to go into details about her past until she knew that she could trust this guy at least a little bit. "I sing, write lyrics and other things, hang out with my two best friends, and party." That was pretty much what her life was, but she didn't really mind it all that much and her life tended to be a lot of fun.

"ya i can see that" he joked holding a serious face for a few seconds then breaking into a sly smirk. it was natural for Luke to joke around, sometimes he took too far but most of the time it was normal things like picking up on little details and stuff.
still with his signature smirk Luke nodded to her as he listened. he was always such a good listener when he wanted to be of course. it was common for him to listen to girls because he was interested in them obiviously. as she finished Luke gave another nod then spoke "wow...your like the girl version of me" laughing at himself

"Well, I can see that you have been gaining some wisedom as well." She said also messing around with him since it came naturally from her years with hanging out with Craig since she always messed around with him. Returning the smirk she knew that she was just having her fun that she had with people that she knew a little bit.
Essie liked to talk about life more than other things, and if you got deep enough into her; she would spill everthing to you, and there was only one person that even gone at all close to that. "I guess so. I just find that is what I enjoy to do in my spare time." Shrugging a little bit she knew why a lot of people thought of her as strange; in a good way of course. She always was naturally different from the crowd in one way or another.

"ya i guess i am..." scratching the back of his head Luke looked down at the grass that blew in the wind. he combed his hair to one side of his face and looked back up at her. "ya me too...when im doing that, i can be myself and nothing around can touch me no matter how hard they try" he nodded as they dove deeper into the conversation

Smiling a little bit she was glad that Luke was willing to talk to her a little bit about his life instead of hiding everything away and she could tell that a friendship was starting to form between the two of them. "I love being myself and I always try to be myself even at school, because through my expirence being yourself is the best you can do." This was actually heading into a direction that would lead to deeper conversations later on, and that might need to her tell him some of her secrets.
