Craig raced down the halls, jumped stairs until he got to his classroom. perhaps walking Essie to her class wasn't such a good idea on his first day. He was late, but depending on who his teacher was, depended on whether or not he could sweet talk her round. He caught his breathe then opened the door and smiled weakly. Detention on his first day, was never a good start.
She flexed her long withered fingers to the only remaining seat in the classroom. He guessed she'd enforced a seating plan, ah well that would soon be out of the window. Then he saw who he was sat next to. His broodey expression flickered onto a small smile before disapearing again. He mutter a short apology before walking towards his desk.
He nodded and greeted his friends as he weaved in and out of desk rows until he came to the desk he'd be sharing with Beth. For a whloe year, it could prove quite enjoyable or some what difficult. Only time would tell. He sat down and pulled his things out before whispering, "Hey Beth, have a nice Summer?"

After rushing from her locker to the first class of the day, Beth had somehow arrived on time. It was kind of a shock considering her locker was on one side of the school, she only had two minutes, and the class she needed to go to was downstairs. As she walked into the classroom calmly, she was directed to the one of the two seats that were left, both being in the very back of the classroom. After taking a seat, she looked around the room only to find that absolutely none of her friends were in the room...yet that is.
Oh how Beth hated the first day of school after summer vacation. Sure, she loved seeing old friends that she hadn't caught up with during her summer cruise along the coast, but she hated knowing that her day would be spent with boring teachers droning on about stuff that Beth couldn't have cared less about. Still when her good friend Craig Dice showed up, a little late, and was directed to the previously empty seat beside Beth, she couldn't help but grin. Well this class just got a little more interesting.
"Craigo, Craigo, Craigo. Shouldn't you know by now that Miss Davies is the toughest teacher in this school?" she joked around, setting her purse that she had previously been searching through on the floor beside her before turning her gaze towards the boy beside her. "Summer was great. Until the 'rents got into a fight on the cruise and we had to end our little vacation early. What about you?" she asked with a sweet smile playing across her face.

Shuffling his seat in further to the desk, he rested his elbows and placed his head in his hands. If he was gonna have to sit in this room for an hour, he had to atleast be comfortable. But, Craig was hoping that Math's would last alot longer that morning, not just because he was acompanied by Elizabeth James, but because he had History next. History, meant blood and Craig had a phobia of blood. Not the huge kind, he just didn't like alot of the stuff is all.
He grinned at her comment. "Ahh, well I'll get myself outta detention somehow. Just gotta figure out her weak link, i'll just ask Jeremy. He proberly already know's it!" jeremy was a good friend of his, a very close friend in fact. But their was always that competitive rivalry between the two that everybody else seemed to find rather funny.
"Vacation was the usual. My mum and me went down to see my grandparents for a week then came back here. Re-vamped the cafe if you wanna swing by some time, it's very.... cafeish! And Im sorry about your parents, they'll sort it out sometime!" He smiled at her before turning his head back to face the board. He couldn't make sence of most of the wierd numerical values scribbled up their.

Beth couldn't help but laugh at Craig's comment on detention. Of course. Jeremy knew every teacher in Crystal Academy's weak link. He had made a habit of finding out. Not just for his friends who were often needing some assistance in escaping the dreaded detention, but also for himself. Seemed someone was always getting detention. Especially during the first few weeks of classes. Always has been that way and probably always would be. "Why don't you just go to it? Jeesh. I would, but then again, I usually get detention with a friend so I have a reason to go."
The funny thing was, Beth hadn't gotten detention since the beginning of her junior year. Granted, that was only a year ago, but still. The only reason she had made an attempt to not get detention was her social life. Do you know how much it sucks when you have plans and they suddenly get ruined by some bogus teacher's lame excuse to put you in a room with several other kids who you didn't even know? Pretty bad. We'll just say that much.
Another quiet laugh escaped Beth's lips as Craig spoke up again, talking about the cafe being 'cafeish'. This small noise coming from their direction had recieved a look from the teacher in the front of the room and Beth quickly acted as though she was gathering her things to take notes on the numbers and values written on the board. However, as soon as Miss Davies' attention was back on the board, Jessi let her pen fall on top of the tablet in front of her and then turned her gaze back to her friend. "I'll be sure to check out this 'cafeish' cafe." she whispered in a joking manner. "Ahh...well..I get used to it. They're always arguing these days. If it's not about me and what I do, it's something else. Just kind of learned to live and go on."

The trouble with having jeremy as a freind, was that you always seemed to get roped into his stunts. Funny yes, but the times Craig had spent with Rem in detention were not so fun. So by Sophmore year, rem had the school wired, he knew the soft teachers, the lame excuses... everything!. Rem, was a genius at the dirty work. But, not at anything else. "Exactly, unless Beth your willing to be my detention buddy then im not going." He grinned at her then pretended to write something down on his paper.
Craig only went to detention if their was absolutly no way of getting out of it, and that was quite frequently really. Rem, thought it was funny not to tell Craig his tricks of the trade. But then again, If the roles were reveresed Craig wouldn't either. It was a guy thing really.
How else was he supposed to describe the cafe? More modern, quaint, suitable for teens? Phhst, he'd just sound like a tour guide... "Ahh, glad to hear it. The cafeish cafe, will be lovely to have you as a guest!" Craig nodded, remembering the days when his parents arguing. He'd just go up to his room and read, he liked to read. "I just found, soemthing to occupy me. Or when i was in a bad mood I would just join in! But Im not to bothered anymore, i abrley speak with my dad since he left."
