School had just let out, it had been a rough day Haley couldnt seem to focus on her studies. She hadnt been abe to focus on much since she'd split with Craig, everything was different and she didnt know quite how to handle it. She exited the classroom she had just spent the last hour in and headed down the corridors, she was ready to just get home and get in her bed with a huge tub of ben and jerry's. Just as she rounded the corridor she spotted Craig standing by his locker, she panicked and turned around quickly but not before Craig spotted her.

Craig still felt terrible about the break up. He just wished he'd done things differently, gone after her when she'd left... anything? But he couldn't erase the past,. just had to hope that she would forgive him.
Leaning on his locker, the girl on his thought's came into view and he smield at her. raising a hand, but she turned and walked away. This time, he went after. Pushing through the crowds, almost running he caught her and placed hs hand on her shoulder.
"Haley.. can we talk? Please?"

Haley felt a hand on her shoulder and heard that familiar voice, she turned round and looked at him she was immediately taken in by those sparkling blue eyes and she had to look away. Her face was pale and her eyes red from the constant crying, she kept her head down "I dont know what you want me to say..." she mumbled

He felt terrible, looking into her eyes. So confused and lost, but Haley wold always be special tyo him and he had to have her in his life.

Haley looked up at him and tried her hardest not to cry, "You don't have to be sorry you didn't have feelings for me anymore, its ok..." she looked away again. "Craig I will always love you..." she kept her eyes on the floor Craig meant everything to her and always would even if they weren't meant to be a couple she would always have feelings for him. What hurt her the most was that she questioned whether he had the same feelings, not that she wanted him to love her if he didnt but at least love her like you love a friend and she feared that he didnt feel that way.

What was he supposed to do? Everything was so difficult and akward with her.
"Look Haley, I love you just... not in that way!" He placed his hands in his pockets and rocked back onto his heels. Craig just stared at the tip of her hair, she was avoiding eye contact with him.

Haley looked to her right and out of the window, she sighed then returned her gaze to Craig. Glancing up briefly she met his eyes but it was hard for her to look into them as it brought back all her feelings and she was finding it hard to stop herself from crying. "Im sorry" she muttered under her breath

Craig looked at her still, not letting his gaze drift.
"So, can we atleast be friend now? I seriously need you to be apart of my life, you;ll always be special to me Haley and I want you to know that."

Haley looked down at her feet and shuffled them about nervously, "Craig I dont know...I dont know how to be just friends and anyway everyone knows ex couples never stay 'just friends'" she replied as she emphasised the just friends part

"Haley, are you kidding me? Damn, you've been watching way too much tv. That's not true and you know it. Please Haley, atleast give it a chance!" He was pleading with her now and was totaly confused. Why didn't she want them to be friends anymore?

Haley didnt know what she wanted anymore, she couldnt imagine her life without Craig in it but right now she was still hurting and the idea of them just being friends was hard for her to comprehend and thinking of seeing him with Rachel was too much for her to take. "I dont know...its just too hard.."

Hearing the warning bell sound, Craig cursed beneathe his breathe.
"The old Haley, would never have given up. Especially on something as important as our friendship... if your not gonan fight for this I am, we have to get this sorted Haley. Once and for all."

Haley knew he was right, looking up at him she let out a small smile "I want to...I just dont know how..." was all she managed to say she knew she didnt make any sense but she didnt know what was going on in her head or her heart

"You'll ... we'll figure it out Haley." With that he gave her the first hug since the two had split. "See you around buddie?" He said emphasising on the word buddy.

Haley watched him as he walked away, she couldnt help but feel like part of her was walking away with him he heart felt like it was tearing in three, a part for her a part for Craig and a part for someone else that she was still denying meant something to her.
