Time of our lives?
"From what I hear, these things are supposed to be for spilling your favorite memories…
But theres no rules right?
High School is either supposed to be the best four years of your life, or the worst four years of your life. But how can we define whether they were the best or the worst if they were filled with both smiles and tears?
My names Rachel Stone and for me, these last four years have been four years that I will never forget. I never said they were my best or my worst…Don’t get me wrong, I loved high school, but everyone’s going to have memories of things they never wished happened.
Um…Let’s see the best memory I have of Crystal Falls academy…Would have to be…freshman year. To pick out one thing that I remember the most would take me a long time, and were only given seven minutes to talk on here so…Yeah, everything about freshmen year will be remembered. That was the year I got my first boyfriend, the year I met my four best friends…
...
...Scratch that…Relationships are over rated. I mean…If you don’t stay in contact with someone, you don’t talk at all…If you try and create new relationships…Old one are ruined, and if you try to go after something you want in someone…You get bitched at for it. Over the past four years I dated two of my best friends. Craig Scott and Jeremy Efron. I guess it’s true what they say about it being hard to teach an old dog new tricks. These guys are like…The kings of the castle. The castle in our case, being the school. Any girl would fall head over heels for either of them. Well…I did…Once. But of course, being the ‘friend’ that I am…With both of them, we broke up for the exact same reasons.
If you want something, your supposed to fight for it. Just like…If you’re being bullied or pushed around by a peer you fight them to show them who you really are, not the person they think you are. I guess I just stopped fighting. I’m tired of being considered as ‘just a friend.’ I’m tired of hearing those three Word s. I guess my friend Haley would be happy to hear that I’m done fighting if she saw this…which she never will. Shes always telling me to 'go for it' or telling me to take a chance...But its not as easy as it looks. When those chances come around again, they fly by you without even looking back.
High School in Crystal Falls has been anything but the best years of my life. Moving onto bigger and better things is a dream of mine…And in approximately five months time…That’s what I’ll be doing.
Ten years from now, people are going to be exactly the same. There may be different cliques and different ways of life, but for you that don't want to end up like me, not regretting the things we did do but the things we didn't do...Take that chance. See where it takes you. Because you won't know until you try. Fight until theres nothing left, because until you get that something that your fighting for, you'll never find yourself completely happy. You'll find yourself thinking "What if?..."
Well what if you take that chance?
Don't take anything for granted...Take a chance before its too late.
Your truly,
Rachel Stone
Ps. Heres to the class of 2006...The ones who stopped fighting."
