Craig was rather confused, Rachel had not been very descriptive in her e-mail. But, by the sound's of things, something was up with her. So throwing his hoodie on, over his apple green shirt he walked over to rachel's house. Not exactly far, just a few blocks away.
Craig stood infront of her door, hesitating before rapping his knuckles lightly twice. Then he ran a hand through his blonde hair, not sure what to say when he saw her. God, he'd told her that he liked her and then he had heard some rumours at school about her and Luke. Although, he wasn't gonna believe them until Rachel told him. If she ever got round to it that is...

Senior year was supposed to be the year Rachel and her friends went out with a bang. You know...Do something spontanious, or make something of themselves. Do something they were supposed to be remembered for? Well in the past week or so, Rachel had done more than enough to be remembered for. What with wrestling Haley in the cafeteria, going out for dinner with her best friends boyfriend after they broke up, kissing two guys while liking one, and then deciding to date the other? Things just werent going they way they were supposed to be.
Dressed in a pair of black sweat pants, and a red hoodie, Rachel headed to the bathroom for what seemed to be her second box of tissues in two days. There was no stopping her tears. Everything had just piled up and kept going till it was all too much. It was the only thing left to do. Earlier that day she had emailed Craig to see if he could come over so they could talk. Of all the people she had seen, he was the one she saw the least of. In fact, she haden't seen him since their dinner, and there were a few things they needed to talk about.
With a box of tissues in hand and a blanket in her other, she had barely made it back to her bedroom before she heard a knock at the door. Slightly paniced, she looked at the clock just not noticing what time it was. It was sure to be Craig at the door. Scurring to the mirror next to the door, while staying out of view, she studied herself in the mirror. Her eyes were red and her hair was a mess, but she couldn't leave Craig standing outside the door.
Wiping her eyes with the back of her hand, she put on her best smile, which only managed to come out as a weak frown, and opened the door to her friend. Looking at him for a moment, he was sure to notice how different she was acting, not to mention her teary eyes, "Hi..." She mumbled, moving aside to let him in.

So this wasn't eactly how Craig had pictured Senior year to be. First off, he had imaged no drama but in Highschool, that was a longshot. then he imagined him and Haley would still be together, but his feeling's had changed... for the girl stood before him.
Something was definetly up, Rachel wasn't looking as Radient as she usually did. No glowing skin, neat hair, brightening smile just none of it. Instead, puffy eyes, her hair scraped back and her petite figure hidden in baggy clothes. This wasn't the Rachel he knew.
He stepped into the house, shuttung the door behind him. Then studied her once more, but it wasn't any good. Craig wasn't a mindreader. "Rachel, what's up?" She must have invited him over for something, whether it was just a shoulder to cry on or someone to talk too, he'd be there.

Stepping back further into the house, Rachel waited for Craig to take his shoes off and follow her to the living room where she had the blinds shut and the radio playing low. Once he had done so, she walked to the living room, looked around as if the place was new to her and sat down on one end of the couch, pulling her legs up to her chest.
"Craig I was dating Luke..." She said, getting the first bit out quickly, "And I know I should have told you sooner because of our dinner, but I didnt and im sorry...But now...Now he slept with Haley and Haley's accusing me of likeing you and Jeremy and Luke at the same time and..." And what? she thought. That was it...Well not all of it, but that was it in a nutshell. Choking back, she burried her face in her arms as she rested them on her knees, as tears dripped from her eyes. Rae hated Craig to see her like this, but he seemed like the only one that she could talk to.
Muttering through her sweater she cried, "I don't know what to do Craig. I regret it all...."

Craig took a deep breathe in before bedning down and slipping his k-swiss trainer's off. Then he took his hoodie of and slif it over the banister, straightening out his apple green shirt as he did so. Craig followed Rachel into her livingroom and sat down next to her, just waiting for something..anything.
Then it all came out... He didn't think it could have happened though. Luke and Rachel seemed happy together, as much as he liked Rachel. He preffered too see his two good friend's happy, but this thing with Haley? it didn't sound anything like Luke or Haley if he was being quite honest. "I knew about you and Luke, the rumours were flying around school but I just hoped you would tell me sooner or later." Guess you both picked later huh? He blinked a few times before replying, "So liking all of us hey? I know that's not like you Rachel and Haley will come round eventually. I guess she's just going through a ruff patch at the moment. Which is partly my fault but Luke and Haley? You know they are not like that, maybe it was just some silly mistake?"
Craig's eyebrows dipped, he felt so bad but for what reason? If he had still been with Haley, maybe this would have all been avoided, but you can't changed the past can you? Craig put his arm round her, hugging her lightly. "Rachel, what do you regret? You regret having amazing times shopping and doing girly things with Haley? Or having special romantic moment's with Luke? "

"But they still did it!" Rachel snapped without thinking before hand. She didn't mean to snap at Craig, she never meant to , but with all the frustration building up inside her, she couldn't avoid it, "They still slept together Craig and you know it as well as I do that its not as easy to forgive! He promised...He promised he wouldn't hurt me and he did. I regret agreeing to date him. It was a mistake and I knew it was from the start but I still did it, and I regret trusting Haley from the beginning."
Ok so maybe she was being a bit harsh, but she couldn't change how she felt at the moment. Pausing for a moment as she took in a breath, she stared her eyes into the table in front of them, "I regret not telling you from the beginning what was going on because I can't loose you too..." Turning her head slowely she looked at Craig, with her red rimmed Hazel eyes.

Craig shuffled back slightly as she snapped at him, he didn't midn though. He'd done it plenty of times to her when he'd gone through some of those distressing situation's, it was his turn to be their for her. "I know they still did it and I know they can't change that. " He stayed silent as she contiued. It was hard to forgive, he of all people should know that...
"Take it back..." He said calmly. " You don't mean that Rachel and atleast you have the chance to take it back right now. You and Haley are like sister's and you and Luke, are perfect together." He sighed slightly. "Everyone makes mistakes Rach."
He stared into the side of her blonde head, wondering what was going on in their. How she must have been feeling. "Rachel, you know you won't loose me, I'll always be their for you." He smiled warlmy at her, trying to ease the tense atmosphere that was increasing.

Life wasn't perfect...It never would be. But a girl could always dream right? No. They couldn't even do that, because each and every time Rachel dreamt that something good would happen, that dream was shot down in an instant.
"Craig...I mean it right now. And until something changes I'm not taking it back. Haley has lost my trust and Luke...Has lost my heart," She said sounding a bit more sure of herself than before, "No ones perfect for eachother. If we were, we'd be together, but in the last week, i've broken up with him twice. Tell me how thats perfect?" She looked Craig in the eye, wondering if he'd come up with a theory for her now.
If she had just told Craig she liked him at the dinner, she couldn't see any of this happening. But what had happened...Couldn't be taken back. It was too late for that now. Second chances gone.
Crossing her arms and legs, Rachel let out a huff, "Relationships suck..." She said in a pout, trying to be funny and serious at the same time.

Craig didn't know what to say for once, sure he seemed to be Mr.Advice lately but at that moment in time, he had gone blank! What was he supposed to say? Everything would be fine and her Luke and Haley would sort everything out? God, he knew it would take alot to forgive and forget.
He sat their motionlessly, he couldn't ecatly make her take it back now could he? Craig didn't understand her reasoning fully and had no explanation on how the two were a perfect couple. Maybe he would have a dozen reason's if the circumstances were different, if he didn't like the distraught girl before him.
Craig couldn't help but laugh at what she did next. The whole, spolit little daddy's girl act suited her perfectly. "Oh don't I know it Rach!"

Sitting in silence for a moment, Rachel stared into thin air, as Craig laughed at her 'daddy's spoiled little girl act.' Though she wasn't one to get all huffy if something didn't go her way, this was the one thing she was letting get to her. You couldn't put a price on happiness. Thats how she saw it. You had to find that one thing or that one person that could make you happy when you were unhappy. On the one hand Rachel knew many people, but she could only think of two that could put a smile on her face at any given time.
Craig and Luke.
When you thought about it, putting the two names together and going through the history between Craig and Rachel and Rachel and Luke, it made sense that these would be the two guys to make her happy. Of course they were friends from the start, but when it came down to choosing who you'd rather be standing next to, it wasn't as easy as it looked. Rachel had chosen Luke...That had proved to be a mistake at the moment...And yet she had chosen to stand next to Craig a few years ago. You didn't need a guy to make you happy, but in Rachel's case, being senior year and torn between two people, she wanted that assurance that someone would be there. After all, she had just lost her best friend.
Snapping out of her thoughts, Rachel spoke up, "I know you can! See thats where you and I can level. Why do you think I asked you to come over in the first place?" With her chin rested on her arms, she tilted her head and looked at Craig, a slight smile on her face.

Craig couldn't help but stare at her for a few moment's, just wondering what was going through her head. Why had she invited him here of all people? What about Essie or Beth? Haley was certainly a no no at that given point. But, if he had the chance, he would try and change that.
Then the answer to his question, to her the reason she had invited Craig along way because he had experience with relationship's as such. But that wasn't what Craig had wanted, but who was he kidding? Rachel only had feeling's for Luke, he'd let his chance go years ago.
He shrugged his shoulder's, just playing along really. "So, Im gonna be like Oprah and solve all your issues? Or is this gunna turn in to some Jerry Springer shit?" He joked, he edges of his lips curving into a smile.

The explination Rae had given Craig, was the one she doubted he wanted. He probably expected to hear that she invited him over to tell him that he was the one she wanted to be with and that Luke was a mistake. And perhaps it was. Perhaps Rachel was better off with Craig. With the one that she had known for a few years, the one who had dated her before, the one who knew more about her than she knew herself?
If there was one thing Rachel didn't expect to do on a day like today, it was break into hysterics, but somehow, Craig had managed to do it. Letting a gasp of giggles escape from her lips, the curly haired blonde gripped her sides, "Oh the Jerry Springer shit's already started! I was thinking something more along the lines of Dr. Phil." Looking Craig in the eyes with her own hazel ones, she smirked.
Maybe she was better off alone? She didn't need some guy to make her happy..Well other than Craig. As long as she had friends like him, than she was good. Who knew, maybe they'd get another chance?

Craig's eyes trailed over the living room before him, the place he'd been to so many times before. Craig couldnt help but smile, somehwat dreamily. Drifting back through the year's to when the group had no problem's, well girls had coodies. You couldn't even go near them without contracting the disease! But time had changed, they had all changed.
Craig accompanied her sweet laugh with his own, he hadn't meant for it to come out the way it had. All the Dr.Phil stuff sounded spot on. The thing with Rachel and Craig was that, when thing's got rough, they always seemed to make one another laugh atleast once or twice. That was just the affect they had on each other, simple yet effective. "Rachel Stone, I don't think Dr.Phil will ever be ready for the likes of you!"

With another laugh, Rachel nodded her head in agreement, "Alright, i'll give you props for that...But, he'd never be ready for any of us, so...Ya...You know." Right then she had lost her train of thought. For such a small town, you'd think the drama would be cut to a minimum, but instead, Crystal Falls turned out to be like one of those towns you saw in the movies. Different cliques, 'clique wars', love and war, the works.
As her lips sealed shut, the house seemed to follow in complete silence. Placing her hands in her lap, she looked around. If there wasn't anywhere in town to go, where no one would be, this was the place to be. On the couch, with a blanket and a good movie.
"Why am I even moping over this?" She blurrted out, randomly and out of the blue, "Boys are just stupid..." It was as if she had forgotten Craig was sitting next to her.

Craig grinend broadly, his pearly white's clearly visible. Strangely enough, he was enjoying the time spent with Rach, even if it was under these circumstances. " Blondey..>" He teased as she totally blew her come back, Craig loved to tease the girl. It was enjoyable and she was always fun to wind up!
Caig ignored the eerie silence that leapt p on the pair, then glanced sideways at the girl. For a split second he was left questioning his intentions of coming here. There was nothing he could do to change her feeling's he had no control at all. All raig could do, was sit back and hope that maybe she'd give him a chance.
Craig couldn't help but grin at her comment. "Yup, boy's... all of em except a certain Craig Scott are all complete jerk's. Nothing we can do about it girl!" He replied leaning back into the chair and propping his head up with his elbow.
