Plot:
The Wizarding world is ever growing, and ever changing. There are schools for witchcraft and wizardry all over the world. One such school is Likos School for Magic, possibly the oldest Wizarding school in existence. High in the rocky hills of Greece, the marble columns rise to meet the sky. Five columns in the very center stand for each of the founders: Fotea, Ayera, Ye, Nerro, and Hronos. The founders were righteous and true, each seeking to teach students the proper ways of magic. The stories have been told, that in the time of the ancients—of gods and goddesses, of Olympians and great warriors—when the city-states of Greece warred amongst themselves, that six young wizards and witches banded together to form a school of unity and strength, for they knew the time would come when they would need that unity to save their country and their people.
The six original founders—Alexandria Fotea, Demitrios Ayeros, Vasilios Ye, Stavrula Nerro, Eleni Hronos, and Damian Skuros—found each other at a meeting of the Athenian democratic council. The Wizarding folk of that time had already begun to band together into a united group, and the six were members of six different city-states, drawn to the large amount of magic folk in Athens during its golden age. They agreed that it was time the magical folk of Greece began teaching their children the ways of magic, and how to use it wisely, with a just heart and a sound mind.
But there was dissent among the founders within weeks of the completion of the school’s construction. Damian Skuros believed that those without magical power had no right to decide the laws of the land because he believed that they did not possess the same wisdom that the magical folk did. It was his plan to teach the students how to take the power out of the hands of the non-magical folk and use it for themselves, to make the world as they wished it. After all, hadn’t the gods granted them the gift of magic so that they may help the poor unfortunate ungifted with their poor pitiful lives full of corruption, greed, and void of all magical enlightenment?
The other five founders expelled Skuros from their partnership when his views toward non-magical folk became violent. His pillar was knocked down, and his familiar was removed from the Council of Sorting.
Likos School for Magic opened in the year 500 B.C., but with only five founders. Each new student was taught to admire and appreciate the beauty of nature, for this was the time when the ancients still believed in the gods. Each student was taught how to communicate with an animal, and that animal became his or her familiar. With his or her familiar, a student could unlock a new level of power. After much discussion and debate, the founders decided that it was unsafe for a student in his or her first year of school to have the ability to unlock this power. So students were taught communication and connection in their first year, and near the end of their second year, they were chosen by an animal. Together with this animal, the students would learn to harness and control their new level of power.
There was, on occasion, a higher level student who had not been chosen, but that was always because their greatest strength had not realized itself. They were chosen in later years by animals such as the dragon, the phoenix, the kraken, the centaur, or the angels. There was one in every generation. These students were said to be the heirs of the five original founders. And every generation, there was a student chosen by a gorgon, and they were said to be the heir of Damian Skuros.
The heir of Skuros would attempt to take the school to the dark side of thought, and convince students to attack non-magical folk, the Impure, as they were called by the dark ones. They formed a generation-bridging society, called the Stone Searchers after the gorgon’s powers to turn those it looks upon to stone.
A new heir of Skuros has been found. His name is Balafacor Cantis. He is gathering followers the like the Stone Searchers have not seen since their founding. The students must now choose. Will they fight for the Stone Searchers or the true founders? Will they aid the world’s descent into darkness or raise it out of its current path to destruction? What will you choose?
Let the Choosing begin!
