Essie was here for one of the strangest reasons for a long time, and that was to sing a song that she really felt like singing at the moment for no real reason. Maybe it was just, because she was in the mood to be wild and crazy and she didn't care what people thought at that moment. It might have been something totaly different though.
She was singing one of the Kelly Clarkson songs that were pretty well known of course. The one that she was sing at that moment was called Miss. Independent, and it seemed to be a song that matched her pretty well, at least the independent part.
Miss Independent, Miss Self-Sufficient Miss Keep-Your-Distance Miss Unafraid, Miss Out-of-My-Way Miss Don't-Let-a-Man-Interfere (no) Miss On-Her-Own, Miss Almost-Grown Miss Never-Let-a-Man-Help-Her-Off-Her-Throne
So by keeping her heart protected She'd never ever feel rejected Little Miss Apprehensive Said ooh, she fell in love
What is this feelin' takin' over? Thinkin' no one could open the door Surprise--it's time To feel what's real What happened to Miss Independence? No longer need to be defensive Goodbye, old you When love is true
Miss Guarded-Heart, Miss Play-it-Smart Miss If-You-Want-to-Use-That-Line-You-Better-Not-Start (no) But she miscalculated She didn't want to end up jaded And this miss decided not to miss out on true love
So by changing her misconceptions She went in a new direction And found inside she felt a connection She fell in love
What is this feelin' takin' over? Thinkin' no one could open the door Surprise--it's time To feel what's real What happened to Miss Independence? No longer need to be defensive Goodbye, old you When love is true
When Miss Independence walked away No time for love that came her way She looked in the mirror and thought today What happened to Miss No-Longer-Afraid? It took some time for her to see How beautiful love could truly be No more talk of why can't that be me I'm so glad I fin'lly see
What is this feelin' takin' over? Thinkin' no one could open the door Surprise--it's time To feel what's real What happened to Miss Independence? No longer need to be defensive Goodbye, old you When love is true
When she finished up with the song she looked around, and saw none other than...

Luke had just left the school day behind, the bell had rung sending everyone out the doors and onto their busy social lives. it was nothing special for Luke tonight though as he walked to his locker, grabbed a few books and hhis guitar case then headed for the doors.
today Luke drove to school, seeing as how his leg was bugging him the day before he wanted to rest it instead of skate to school. walking over to his car he heard a voice singing a song. as he put all his things in the car and locked it up he crossed his arms and walked over to the girl who was none other then Essie. giving her a smirk Luke nodded his head to her "that was....very umm..interesting" he laughed slightly. Luke was a music guru, he loved everything about it and he knew all the artists and songs on the market so hearing kelly clarkson was not a surprise to him

Essie laughed a little bit when she saw Luke's reaction to what she had been singing at that moment since she had done it in a pretty strange place. I mean who would sing a song in the parking lot of all places? None other than Essie Anderson would of course.
"I bet you think that it is very strange that I sang in a parking lot right?" She asked with a laugh since she knew that there were other students that were leaving their cars, and giving her strange looks. Of course, people shouldn't be surprised since recently she had a lot of sudden inperations like this for some reason.

Luke just laughed "no no...its cool, odd but i get it" he shrugged "well i tihnk i do anyways" still laughing at her. yes it was odd to be singing in the parking lot but to Luke he found it interesting...and put much more thought into it than need be. what is suppose to represent a stage of some kind? the cars being people?

Essie knew that there was probably an inner reason for her singing in the parking lot, but the reason she wasn't too sure of yet. There were three parts to her; courage, wisedom, and natural reactions which formed Essie. "I just sang because I got the sudden insperation, and when I get one I just take it." She shrugged a little bit not really thinking that she had put too much thought into it.
A lot of people when she did something like this would think of her as someone that was weird in one way or another. Luke didn't seem to think that though which was a good thing considering that he was a friend that had been found out about not too long ago really.

"well i guess then...just go with the follow" he shrugged looking at her. Luke could never really tell Essie, meaning he didnt know her through music. she was hard to read that way but Luke never really gave up on that, he always tried to find a way than it slowly would backfire when she sung another song. "umm...whats your personal style...music wise i mean?"

"Rock and Alteritive mainly. Although I do listen to other kinds of music a lot too." She knew that he was probably pretty confused about the personality of Essie, but it was all there even if you didn't see it. In most cases she preferred those two types of music the most because they seemed to match her mood a lot. "Maybe seeing my topsongs playlist might help you out a little bit." After she said this she got out her MP3 player.

"edgy princess? didnt picture you as edgy but ok...i guess looks can be giving off bad vibes" he smirked "nice list...there are a lot of great bands on here..." he said as Luke held the device in his hand and scrolled down the long list of artists.

"Looks are very deciving my friend." She laughed at this knowing that a lot of the songs either talked about her past or her present. It was cool with her, because she loved all of the songs a lot. "It's just what I feel like those things are the key to my soul in a small package." She knew that if he listened to all of them he would find that it was true, but she didn't want him to go and listen to them all right away.

"yup...you have indeed proven me wrong on that account" raising his hands above his head as if to say i surrender. smiling, he dropped his arms shortly after to his sides and put his hands in pockets. "thats what music does to everyone..."

She laughed a little bit as she saw him acting like he surrendered, because he had been wrong on the way Essie was like. Of course she didn't mind it, and it made making friends a lot of fun since she could keep them guessing for a little while. "Yeah, it's just a gift that music seems to have." Grinning at this it was so true, and a lot of her songs refelted what she either felt or used to feel in one way or another. Music and writing was her way of escape from the things around her.

"Speaking of darkness..." She said with a sigh knowing that he would be surprised by what she would say next, but he had found a way to get deeper into her without even trying at all really. "Where I used to live I had a lot of people harrassing me and all of that stuff. It was just because I was too different for a reason that I now know, but didn't understand then. I almost killed a lot of people until I heard the the song Hero (Red Pill Mix) then I just turned around." That was something that you just didn't get out of Essie Anderson everyday that was for sure.

"thats the power of music....it has a way of change your life, its like your best friend telling you they can relate but really they cant. just one song can change someones life forever and the artist...well the artist might not even know it"

"Yeah, sometimes it just happened the song got me wanting to get out of the hole, but the one who helped the struggling Essie Anderson is Craig Scott and he doesn't even know it." She knew that was why she liked him so much after all. "So that is my story basically, and plus some current events are causing me a little bit of trouble, but life is treating me a whole lot better here."
