After everything that had happened in the past week, what with Haley and Craig breaking up because of Rachel, to Rachel dating Luke, it wasn't surprising that she had asked Haley to meet at in the cafeteria at lunch to talk. Despite the fact that they may not have been on the best of terms, Haley was the only one that Rae had kept in contact with over the past few months. Everyone else had been busy with their own thing, where as, Rachel and Haley had talked about relationships, friendships and had their little fall outs.
Having gotten dressed into a pair of dark jeans and a black band t-shirt, she had driven to the school on high hopes, parked the car, and headed inside for the first few classes of the day. By the time the lunch bell had rung, Rachel was the first to the cafeteria, making sure she got a table for two.
Waiting patiently for her friend, as people gathered around to eat their lunches, Rachel debated on telling Haley that she was dating her best friend. After all, she had to have some objection to it.

Haley had been suprised when Rachel had asked to meet her in the cafeteria at lunch, they were friends true but things had certainly been messy latey and she wasnt sure how to handle her right now. She had a free period before lunch so she had come into school late, after a long relaxing shower Haley had dressed in dark denim jeans and a pale pink wrap cardigan over a white vest, simple and classic...typical Haley.
As usual Haley walked to school, not having a car she was always on foot unless one of her friends drove her in. Haley liked the walk though it gave her time to think and take in the beautiful sights of Crystal Falls. As she approached the school gates she felt her heart beat a little faster she was feeling quite nervous about meeting Rachel still she knew it had to happen sooner or later.
She opened the main front door and headed down the long corridor towards the cafeteria, she passed Jeremy's locker and she couldnt help but feel butterflies in her stomach. She shook them away and pushed open the door to the canteen, she spotted Rachel towards the back and walked over. Dropping her bag to the floor Haley took a seat opposite Rachel but didnt say a word.

Having gone over what to say and how to say it in her head, Rachel looked up when she felt the table in front of her shake. Haley had seated herself in front of her, and didnt exactly look up to the conversation they were about to have. Rach couldn't blame her on the one hand but she did hope that they could get through this without getting at eachothers throats.
"Uh...Glad you came Hales..." Rachel said, putting on the best smile she could manage at the moment. Now would be a good time to say something Haley! she thought as she waited to see if her friend would say something.

Haley sighed and looked up at Rachel she wasnt really sure what to say, "Yeah...well I guess we should talk..." she didnt know what Rachel wanted from her there was nothing she could say right now to change the situation for any of them.
She began to twirl at her hair, the way she always did when she was nervous and anxious. She sat back in her chair and looked at her friend, "so....?" she said wondering where this was going.

Something was making Haley on edge. Rachel didn't know what it was, but there was something she wanted to say and the senior could confirm this just by her friends actions. The twirling of the hair, the lack of words...They were all evident signs of wanting to say something.
"Um...Well...First things first I guess..." Rachel said, fiddling with her fingers under the table, "You best friends with Luke so I thought I should tell you that were dating..." She tried to give a smile, but somehow the situation they were in wouldnt let her do such a thing.

Haley looked at her in shock, "What? So you're seeing Craig and Luke? Nice Rach...nice" she said n a sarcastic and moody tone. She couldnt believe that Rachel wa splaying two of her friends at the same time it sickened her.

Not surprising. Somehow Rachel had known Haley would snap at her once and for all, it was just a matter of time, but by the tone of her voice and the shock on her face, Rachel was slightly confused, "Excuse me?" She asked, raising one eyebrow in her direction, a look of utter confusion on her face.

"Well it just seems that you're working your way round the guys of Crystal Falls..." she said in the most bitchy way Haley had ever been this was not the real Haley but she had changed since her and Craig had broken up. "So lets see, first you're kissing Jeremy then at it with Craig and now you 'dating' Luke" she said as she counted them off on her fingers "almost there Rach.." she added

Point taken Hales point taken... Admitted Rachel to herself. What she was about to say next was beyond something she would say to one of her friends, but it had to be said, "Oh and like your any different telling Craig that you didn't love someone else? I wonder what Jerry would say if he found out that you lied to Craig about him. Normally he likes a girl who isnt afraid to take control..." She crossed her arms, saying this in a moody tone, a small smirk playing over her lips. This statement was meant in two ways but not to offend Haley. To tick her off as much as she was ticking Rachel off with all the accusations.

"What! Where did you get that from you know nothing and anway if[/b[ and I mean if I had feelings for Jeremy I didnt do anythign about it when I was with Craig!" she was stil denying her feelings for Jeremy but she just couldnt face up to them. She leaned in with a look of anger on her face but this anger was hiding guilt as she knew what Rachel was saying was true.

"Haley I know lots of things that you don't know about," Rachel snapped back, leaning over the table, a manic look on her face, "..And I didn't do anything with Craig! You don't know what your talking about! I saw you kiss Jeremy Haley, so don't act like your the innocent one in all this." Other than the fact that she had something for Jerry, Rachel didn't know what else she could use on Haley.

Haley glared at Rachel, "We were just hanging out Rachel...you should know all about that considering your closeness to half the guys in Crystal Falls" she added with a snarl, she hated fighting with Rachel and she didnt really know where it was all coming from but it just seemed to flow from her mouth like a river

"At least I get guys Haley..." Rachel was quick to reply, the comment seeming to just roll off her tongue, "I dont have to be some good citizen and tutor everyone to get noticed either. How you can come to me and accuse me of playing Luke like a fool and doing the same to Craig is beyond me when you dont even know whats going on. Meanwhile...Your accusing Craig and I of sneaking around behind your back when in all reality...Your the one doing it to him. Explain that one to me Haley Lovell?" Rachel crossed her arms and leaned back in her chair just waiting for her friend to leap over the table and strangle her, but she doubted the tiny girl would have the guts.

The comments about Craig and Jeremy didnt seem to hurt Haley as much as the comments about her popularity and getting people to notice her it seemed to hit Haley hard, as much as she wanted to slap Rachel right now it wasnt something she felt capable of. She got up out of her seat and stared at Rachel, "you're a real bitch you know that" she snapped not sure she even meant it before grabbing her bag and leaving the table she hadnt gotten far though. There were crowds everywhere and she felt that familiar feeling of being stared at and talked about as she watched some girls in the corner whispering and looking at her. She tried to right back the tears welling in her eyes.

Luke had just walked into the cafe and without realizing it had ran into one of his best friends. she had ran right into his arms probably by accident but Luke wrapped his arms around her as he saw the expression on her face "Hales? wha...whats wrong...why you crying?" he asked softly
