He nodded, knowing he could trust her... feeling he could trust her too. "Yea I guess not. But, I've kinda been avoiding her and I know she's just gonna pop up all of a sudden and Im just gonna blurt it out and sound like a jackass."
He ran a hand through his hair as they continued walking, sighing lightly. Love was such a complicated thing and Craig just wondered when he'd ever get the chance to experience real love. If he ever would... But he was only a Senior in Highschool, he had the rest of his life before him!
When she said that, he couldn't help but study her. Wondering what she meant about it. "Did you meen like us?" He didn't know what else to say, but he felt he needed to talk to her about their past relationship before their dinner together. Oh he had a lot he wanted to say at that dinner. But Craig had a feeling, he might wimp out and not say a word.

Despite the fact that Craig was being serious about the idea that him and Haley might in fact be coming to an end, Rachel couldn't help but smile at the fact that he was so worried about it. It was those times when something was going completely wrong that he seemed to put himself aside and worry more about the other person than how he would feel. At the moment, thats how she saw it. He was worried about hurting Haley. He regretted some things and he didnt know what to do about it.
"I think you might want to stop worrying about sounding like a jackass and worry more about when she'll 'pop up' out of no where and what your going to say Craig..." Rachel stated, slidding her hands into her back pockets of her jeans, "Haley's not as tough to get through as you think. She's understanding. So as long as you explain yourself completely, im sure she'll understand where your coming from even if its not something she wants to hear."
Before Rachel could continue, Craig had cut her short, bring up the terms of their old relationship. Rachel couldn't think of one girl that would want to hear 'Just friends,' come from the lips of her boyfriend, but Rachel was partially at fault too. When the subject had come up she had willingly agreed that it would be better for them.
Opening her mouth to say something was a big step, and she had made it to that point, as she looked quickly from Craig to the ground in front of her. Talking to him about it was another. "I...I guess?" She said as more of a question. A question to herself as if asking if what she was saying to Craig was more on the level of their relationship, "...I dont think we were in love Craig..." Rachel finally managed to say lifting her head to look in front of her, her tone growing slightly stronger as they spoke, "love isn't just something you think you have and then drop just like that. If we were in love with anyone it would have stuck. Wouldn't it?" She turned her gaze to look at her friend, the look in her eyes soft.

He sighed and knew she was right, but that was how he always was. Worrying about others before himself, Craig needed to stop being such a softy and toughen up. "Yea i guess your right, any ideas of what to say?" He turned to face her with his left eyebrow raised and a smile on his lips. Rachel had away with words when it came to thing's like this and well, Craig just liked talking to her too. "But, what if she's not as understanding? We have been going out for two years, It's not soemthing you just end like that. How am I supposed to explain myself? I just.. ahhh!" He groaned, realising he was just rambling on and on. "Sorry, rach, i don't want to dump this all on you!"
Craig regretted bringing up their relationships, but didn't at the same time. He didn't want to think about the break up, that seemed fine at the time, but actually wasn't. Although he also wanted to know what she thought, or felt back then. Sometimes he just wished things had ended differently.
"I don't think we were in love either. I don't think I even know what Love is, to be quite honest." It was strange how their conversation had veered to love, ironic really. He returned her look and smiled. "Yea, i guess..." Then trailed off, she had no idea of his re amerging feeling's for her, and that's how he wanted it to stay. Atleast while he was with Haley, but after maybe he'd tell her.

"Craig..Do me a favor..." Rachel laughed, looking right at him, "Try and calm down before you have a heart attack? Or at least try and stay alive until after dinner tonight?" Rachel always had a way of lightening the mood in certain situations. Sometimes it was a good thing, sometimes it wasn't but right now it proved necessary, "I don't know exactly what your going to tell her Craig, so maybe what im saying will turn out to be wrong. You won't know until you try. So...Think of it this way. If you dont say something, things will only get worse, making it harder for both you and her. But, if you tell her, at least its out in the open. Better to get it out rather than doing something you dont want right?" She shrugged, hoping he'd put the whole thing into context.
There were things Rachel regretted as well, like the fact that she always agreed on being 'just friends.' She never fought for what she really wanted. So talking to Craig about this, kind of came as a relief. When they had decided that it wasnt for them, it sounded like a good idea, but she haden't fought for it, to see if it would work. They hadent talked about anything but not dating, they never really discussed it though.
Nodding her head, Rachel agreed, "You'll know when your in love Craig...I dunno how to explain it, but you'll know when. Just like I'll know when I am too...It just happens...But now I just sound like some shrink out of a movie," She laughed, taking her hands and rubbing her eyes.

"Yea, right calm and i wouldn't miss dinner for the world!" Then he listened to her advive and nodded their and again trying to make sense of it all. So, he'd have to have a lot of thinking before he told Haley how he was feeling. Craig wasn't gonna do it over the phone like a retard or anything, that would just be harsh. he'd do it face to face, like a man! "Thanks Rae, you helped me alot." "Yeap, i just hope I do find ya know. The one eventually. But i don't want it to happen when Im 40 or something!" He laughed lightly and glanced at his watch. an hour had passed since they'd agreed on the '25' minutes. "Rae, i have to get going and Im sure, you'll take ages to get ready and that so I'll pick you up tonight yea? And thanks again, for everything!" Then he leant in and gave her a light hug. ((Wanna make the thread? Cuz I gotta go ))

(fine fine. but u owe me craigo cuz u didnt even post on Allen ) " The one..Oh yea...I hope you find her too Craig," Rae said almost too sarcastically. But before he could step in to hit her or anything, she laughed, "...Someday. You'll find her someday," She gave a true smile this time. It was odd talking about 'the one' right now when they were only in high school and as senior year had just begun, but if they didnt talk about it now, when else were they going to talk about it? It seemed like forever till the end of the year, but it would go by faster than it any of them thought, and thats when they'd all be off on their own ventures. Time had gone by without either of them noticing and it wasn't long before their agreed twenty-five minutes had turned into an hour. "Oh, yea yea. I'll see you tonight. And don't mention it. Thats what friends are for right?" She shrugged, holding her smile, and hugged him back, "I'll see you in a bit." At that, the two parted ways, Craig heading for the cafe and Rachel heading for home to prepare for the night ahead.
